I was born and raised on the Monterey Peninsula and went to the Bay Area to complete my education. After receiving BA degrees in Psychology and Social Welfare from the University of California at Berkeley, I went on to earn my Master of Social Work degree from Sacramento State in 1994. I returned to Monterey County and have spent my career in public mental health serving children, adolescents, transition age youth, and families in our community. I am also proud to be part of the adjunct faculty in the MSW program at CSUMB, where I educate and mentor the next generation of Social Workers in the areas of Behavioral Health and clinical Social Work.
Being in nature has always had an energizing effect on my spirit. From climbing oak trees as a kid and growing up on the beaches around the Monterey Bay to hiking the mountains of our local regional parks, I find that spending time in the natural environment is both invigorating and rejuvenating. Now I’m bringing my professional experience and my personal love of the outdoors together as the Mindful Oak Nature-Based Psychotherapy Practice. I welcome you to join me on the transformative journey of this unique and calming therapeutic experience.
